Unit 1: My Body

Lesson 1: Parts of the Body

Objectives:

- Learn the names of different body parts in English

- Understand the functions of each body part

Materials:

- Flashcards of body parts

- Picture of the human body

- Song: "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes"

Procedure:

1. Introduction (5 minutes)

- Greet the students and review the previous lesson.

- Introduce the topic: Parts of the Body.

- Show a picture of the human body and elicit responses about different body parts.

2. Presentation (10 minutes)

- Show flashcards of different body parts and teach their names in English. (e.g. head, shoulders, knees, toes, etc.)

- Model the pronunciation and ask the students to repeat after you.

- Point to each body part on the picture and ask the students to say the names.

3. Practice (15 minutes)

- Play the song "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" and encourage the students to sing along and point to the corresponding body parts.

- Divide the class into pairs and have them take turns naming body parts on the picture.

- Give each student a flashcard and have them find their partner by matching the body parts.

4. Application (10 minutes)

- Have the students draw an outline of a person on a piece of paper.

- Ask them to label the body parts in English.

- Display their drawings and let them present their work to the class.

5. Closure (5 minutes)

- Review the names of the body parts by pointing to them on the picture.

- Summarize the lesson by asking questions like, "What did we learn today?"

Extensions:

- Show pictures of animals and ask the students to identify the body parts in English.

- Have a group discussion on how we use different body parts in our daily activities.

Assessment:

- Observe and listen to the students' participation during the activities.

- Check their labeled drawings for accuracy.

- Use informal questioning to assess their understanding of the topic.
